AnswerLab is looking for a top-notch Qualitative User Experience Researcher to play a key role in driving the success of our clients’ online businesses.  This role should interest you if you have:
  • Developed solutions, discussed/consultative options, and written proposals for clients;
  • Led consulting engagements with clients;
  • Conducted qualitative usability research studies, ideally on large-scale websites or web-based applications;
  • Designed and written discussion guides, screeners, test protocols, and questionnaires;
  • Moderated one-on-one usability sessions and conducting other types of usability studies;
  • Used online/remote usability tools and survey software;  
  • Conducted presentations with senior-level business managers/stakeholders; and

While specific experience is important, we are ultimately looking for candidates who have the personal characteristics to thrive in our growing client-focused business. If you are confident in your ability to meet the requirements described above, we’d like to talk with you! The ideal candidate will likely meet the criteria listed below:  
  • Possess a college degree.  A post-graduate or training in Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, or other related discipline with a solid foundation in research-based design using both quantitative and qualitative methods, is desirable.
  • A demonstrated ability to: 1) work independently and drive towards deadlines, 2) produce high-quality deliverables for clients, and 3) think creatively and solve problems.
  • Drive all aspects of projects, including understanding the client's needs, developing a plan and moderator guide, running user sessions, conducting analysis, and developing targeted recommendations.
  • Strong initiative and the drive to succeed in a growing client-focused business.
  • Handle multiple concurrent projects, tracking deliverables and timelines.
  • Consulting experience, either in research specifically or with a management consulting firm that uses analytical data to support conclusions.
  • Experience working on international usability/user experience projects, is a plus.
  • The ability to engage with business and research managers in Fortune 1000 companies.
  • Excellent communication skills- written and verbal.
  • Solid presentation skills, including building PowerPoint presentations and presenting results and recommendations to clients.

This is a full-time, regular, exempt position. Compensation will based on experience.
